Tell me about your The Beginning!

We first met in 2014 at the Spring Carnival Races (neither of us particularly like horse racing!). About 10 months later in September 2015 we met again at a mutual friend’s 21st birthday party and have basically been inseparable since then.

When and where did you get engaged?

We had planned a long holiday to Italy for 2020, however due to COVID it got cancelled. In 2022 we bought a house so the holiday was again put off until 2024. Tom decided to propose on that holiday to Europe in August 2024 on the Island of Salina in the Aeolian islands off the north coast of Sicily. It was already 2 weeks into our 6 week holiday so it was a big surprise and the perfect place (much quieter than mainland Italy!).

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

Hard to describe. It is black tie, but otherwise relaxed and a bit silly (i.e. our dogs will be there, we will have a non-serious song for our first dance). Tables (including flowers, stationary etc.) will be simple – just relying on the beautiful location of Jack Rabbit to do most of the work!

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Spending time with our family and friends all in one place.

Top Tips!

Do a budget then assume you will want to go 5% over! Be strict on your parents’ friend lists… Use experienced vendors where you can, their checklists help a lot!
