Tell me about your The Beginning!
We met at work, Warringa Park School. We had a mutual person to thank for this, Kacey Dixon, as she was Jess’s best friend and my co teacher / PE leader. Funny though, this was not the first chance Jessica had with me as she had swiped left and rejected me recently before my full time employment. After a few chats around school in the opening week, I couldn’t help but slide into her DM’s and with a bit of liquid courage on Georgie’s couch one night, ask her to catch up outside of school. First date was a lovely night, starting at the Port Melbourne Pier for dinner at D’Lish Fish, moving to St Kilda for a couple cocktails and cheeky banter. Pity for me as Jessica was almost an hour late and as i now know, unfortunate for Jessica as Dion was a gentleman and didn’t kiss on the first date.
When and where did you get engaged?
We got engaged in November of 2021 in the Royal Botanic Gardens. This spot held particular meaning for both of us as it was the setting of our second date, our first kiss and where Dion let his walls down letting me know every dirty secret he had.
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
Not sure it’s really a theme or a style, more just going for a classic and simple style.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Definitely seeing each other at the aisle but also just dancing the night away with everyone we love.
Top Tips!
Get the big stuff sorted early. Lock down your venue, date, photographer, celebrant, entertainment, etc. as soon as you can. It’s a massive tick off the list and gives you peace of mind the ‘harder’ stuff is sorted.
Also, don’t sweat the small stuff! The only person who is going to know on the day if something isn’t right or perfect is you!
